CUA VAN FISHING VILLAGE

Cua Van Fishing Village is a beautiful fishing village nestled between Halong Bay and Lan Ha Bay, once listed as one of the 16 most beautiful ancient villages in the world in 2012 by the travel website Journeyetc.com. Cua Van is located in Hung Thang commune, Halong City, about 20km from the Tuần Châu tourist pier. The entire scenery consists of clusters of stilt houses nestled in a tranquil sea, surrounded by majestic limestone mountains. The village's ancient features, outstanding natural beauty, and simple traditional culture make Cua Van Fishing Village an attractive destination for domestic and international tourists.

Today, most of the fishermen have moved to the mainland to live. Cua Van Fishing Village now only has 12 clusters of floating houses, including schools, cultural houses, and some boats of fishermen. Here, tourists can visit the Cua Van Floating Cultural Center, a place preserving the cultural values of the fishing village through traditional activities, as well as cultural exchanges between fishermen and tourists. Visitors will explore and learn about hundreds of archaeological artifacts, tools, and fishing implements of ancient Vietnamese people, as well as authentic and vivid documents about folk culture and the lives of fishermen in Halong Bay through generations.
